Cardiac Diagnostics in Hyderabad

Accurate heart tests explained in plain language so you understand exactly what is happening.

The Right Test. The Right Answer.

Heart tests give your doctor the information needed to understand your heart. No test is chosen without a reason. Your cardiologist selects the most appropriate tests based on your symptoms, risk factors and medical history.

ECG (Electrocardiogram)

An ECG records the electrical activity of your heart. Small stickers (electrodes) are placed on your chest, arms and legs, and a machine draws a graph of your heart's rhythm.

  • Takes about 5 to 10 minutes
  • Completely painless
  • No special preparation required
  • Helps detect irregular rhythms, strain and some forms of damage

An ECG is often the first test done when heart problems are suspected. It is quick, safe and provides important baseline information.

📼 Echocardiogram

Echocardiogram (ECHO)

An ECHO uses sound waves to create moving images of your heart. It shows how well your heart chambers are pumping, how your valves are working and whether the heart muscle is healthy.

  • No radiation involved
  • Safe for all age groups
  • Usually takes 20 to 40 minutes
  • Provides detailed information about heart structure and function

TMT (Treadmill Test)

A TMT monitors your heart while you walk on a treadmill at increasing speeds and inclines. It shows how your heart responds to physical activity and can reveal reduced blood flow that may not appear at rest.

  • Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes
  • You will be monitored throughout by trained staff
  • Wear comfortable clothes and walking shoes
  • Used to evaluate unexplained chest pain and fitness for exercise

Stop the test and tell the doctor immediately if you feel chest discomfort, dizziness or unusual breathlessness during the TMT.

Holter Monitor

Holter Monitoring

A Holter monitor is a small portable device that records your heart rhythm continuously for 24 to 48 hours. It is useful when symptoms like palpitations happen intermittently and do not appear during a routine ECG.

  • You wear the device during normal daily activities
  • You keep a diary of symptoms and activities
  • The device is returned for analysis
  • Helps detect irregular rhythms that occur only occasionally

Ambulatory BP Monitoring

This device measures your blood pressure at regular intervals across a full day and night. It gives a more complete picture than single measurements taken in a clinic.

  • Helps identify white-coat hypertension
  • Reveals blood pressure patterns during sleep
  • Guides more accurate treatment decisions

🔬 Cardiac Imaging

CT Cardiac Imaging

Advanced computed tomography scanning provides detailed three-dimensional images of the heart and coronary arteries. It can assess calcium build-up in arteries and help evaluate certain heart conditions without invasive procedures.

  • Non-invasive imaging technique
  • Useful for coronary calcium scoring
  • Helpful in select clinical situations
  • Your doctor will explain if and when this test is appropriate for you

Additional diagnostic tools used by our team include blood tests for cholesterol, sugar and cardiac markers, as well as echocardiography with Doppler for detailed valve assessment.

ECG vs ECHO vs TMT: Quick Comparison

📈

ECG

Records the heart's electrical activity at rest. Fast, painless, done in minutes. Good first test for heart rhythm and electrical function.

📼

ECHO

Uses ultrasound to show heart structure and pumping function. Checks valves, chambers and muscle movement. No radiation.

🏃

TMT

Monitors the heart during exercise on a treadmill. Reveals how the heart copes with physical stress and effort.

Questions About Cardiac Tests

No special preparation is needed for a resting ECG. It is quick, painless and can be done at any time. Avoid heavy cream or lotions on the chest before the test as they can affect electrode contact.

An echocardiogram uses sound waves, not radiation, and is generally considered safe. If you are pregnant and need heart evaluation, mention it to your doctor so appropriate precautions are taken.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing and supportive walking shoes. You will be walking and running on a treadmill, so practical footwear is important. Avoid heavy meals for a couple of hours before the test.

Tell the supervising doctor or technician immediately. Tests are stopped at the first sign of concerning symptoms. Your safety is the priority throughout every diagnostic procedure.

No. ECG, ECHO, TMT and Holter monitoring are all non-invasive and painless. You may feel mild chest pressure or breathlessness during a TMT, which is normal with exercise. The test is stopped if needed.
