  • Event monitor: Similar to a Holter monitor but worn for a longer period, often two to four weeks. It records your heart rhythm only when you press a button during symptoms.
  • Echocardiogram: An ultrasound of the heart that shows its structure and how well it is pumping, which can help identify the cause of an arrhythmia.
  • Blood tests: These may be done to check thyroid function, electrolyte levels and other factors that can affect heart rhythm.

Treatment Options for Arrhythmias
